How to fly over the rainbow .

Many time you dream to fly when you sleep from the high montain or from the plane or to be like a bird .

It's so nice feeling when you actually do it . If you watch Avatar movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRdxXPV9GNQ), you will see the dragon that  the hero can't  ride it otherwise challenge himself  through his trust and purpose . Do you know what is that ? Its making the change and the diffrence by the Freedom .When he can't walk (disabled)  ,he build his energy to serve his community by virtual .Thinking to be a hero is not easy but it is need more patience and insistence .

So to fly in your way , you should think and plan what is the process to achieve your target .

Feeling on that ,make the freedom on your life .You will inspire your community or at least promote yourself .

No one know , what that words can do in the future ?!

Anyway my mind thinking  and my hands typing to light your way .

All the best

Israel detains Palestinian lawmaker
Translations available in: English (original) | French | German | Dutch | Arabic

-- Israeli forces on Tuesday detained 11 Palestinians in the West Bank including a Hamas-affiliated member of the Palestinian Legislative Council and a journalist.

MP Nasser Abdel Jawwad was arrested in the early hours in the village of Deir Ballut near Salfit, a town nine miles south of Nablus, after troops ransacked his home, Hamas officials said.

"Abduction of lawmakers is continuation of a plan to assassinate the Palestinian people," a statement released by Hamas’ legislators read.

Officials in Nablus told Ma'an that troops detained journalist Nawwaf Al-Amir, 37, from his home in Kafr Qallil. Al-Amir is program coordinator at Hamas-affiliated Al-Quds satellite TV station.

In Rafidia, west of Nablus, soldiers detained Hamas member Fuad Al-Khafash, the director of the Ahrar center and former director of the bureau of former Minister of Prisoners Affairs Wasfi Qabahi, who was detained a few weeks earlier.

Officials added that soldiers arrested a Hamas supporter called Firas Jarrar from his home in Nablus.

The army had no immediate comment on the lawmaker's arrest, but an Israeli military spokeswoman said 11 Palestinians were detained across the West Bank overnight.

The arrest of the MP from Salfit brings to 14 the number of Hamas parliamentarians detained by Israeli troops over the past eight months.

It also raises to seven the number of Hamas MPs detained by the army since the Islamist movement signed a surprise reconciliation deal with its Fatah rivals at the end of April, a move which was roundly condemned by Israel.

Most of the Hamas MPs who have been picked up were among 64 of the group's members who were arrested during a major army sweep in summer 2006 after militants in Gaza snatched Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Shalit, now 24, is still being held in Gaza and attempts to broker a prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas have led nowhere.

Women's Rights

Historically, women's rights can be defined as legal equality for women in the realms of voting, property, relationship and economic status, education and employment opportunities, reproductive rights and access to political positions. Most women's rights activists agree that, despite significant gains throughout the 20th century, women have yet to achieve full parity with men in all of these arenas.

The expansive list of issues housed under the umbrella of feminism in recent decades has made it difficult for women's organizations and feminists to call upon a unified agenda. Compounding this problem of expansion is that many modern-day women do not self-identify as feminists, even if they espouse some of the beliefs of the movement.

Archetypal issues, however, remain at the crux of the women's rights movement, such as the protection of reproductive rights, equal pay for equal work, the lack of female elected officials, challenging harmful beauty stereotypes, and challenging societal roles of men and women.

Volunteer
Translations available in: English (original) | Spanish | Italian | Arabic

Volunteer

The nonprofit sector cannot take the place of government programs, nor can it single-handedly cure the ills and disparities of society. But each of us can make a difference in a small way, in our own sphere, and can find ways to help that will make our efforts worth the time and trouble we invest in them.

Some of the Best Reasons to Volunteer
Some of the best reasons to give are the ones you may not have considered — the ones that make it worth your while to go that extra step. People who have spent time volunteering for a cause report that they get back in satisfaction and joy more than they ever expend in inconvenience or effort — what you get back is immeasurable. You'll also receive these benefits:

  • Volunteering makes you feel needed.
  • Volunteering can lead to learning new skills.
  • Volunteering can help you deal with some of your personal problems.
  • Volunteering helps you meet new people and breaks down barriers of misunderstanding, mistrust and fear.
  • Volunteering can create new contacts which may help your business or career.

It's What in the World You Can Do!
You might be thinking, "The little bit that I can do will never help much!" or "What in the world can I do?" If you've ever spent ten minutes reading a book to a lonely child, you know that even that small amount of compassion and attention can make a world of difference. No one person can solve the world's problems, but what little you do can make your little corner of the world — or one far away from yours a happier, healthier, safer place to live for those who need your help. Each of us can right a wrong, fill a plate, visit a shut-in, rescue a pet, deliver a meal, tend a public garden, mentor a child or whatever action inspires you.  Just jump in and volunteer!

answer to the question 17

Both of autobiographies are very interesting and exciting to read.because they express our situations under the Israeli occupation,Ibtisam Barakat in her autobiography''Tasting The Sky'' describes her life,so it is very interesting to show the harmony between her family members especially with her brothers,it is also very interesting to live a life full of adventures and mysteries with full encouragement and enthusiasm. It is very interesting to show and assure that Palestine all Palestine is our own land and a part of our souls .

Ibtisam in her autobiography tells the whole story of her life, Which is full of different events happened in different circumstances under the Israeli occupation. Although she lived tough conditions as almost people here in Palestine, The personality of Ibtisam is characterized by calmness and love of adventures waiting for unknown.

There is a main notion that Palestinians all Palestinians are still the supporters of peace even the Israeli occupation is an obstacle distracts and separates our cities ,villages , twons and camps from each other.

In the autobiography ''Sharon And My Mother In Law'' Suad Alamiry gives a great example of challenge. really I love and admire her personality very much ,it is very interesting episode when she determines to get her identity card in a means whatever it could be, her spirit is full of challenge against the Israeli army ,facing  very dangerous accidents under shooting the fire and under curfew to giving helping and rescue to the powerless people ,her love towards  others is a good model of all Palestinians in keeping Palestine as a survival part of our memories.

in addition to, both of two autobiographies of ''Tasting The Sky'' by Ibtisam Barakat and ''Sharon And My Mother In Law'' by Suad Alamiry are moving me personally to the absolute  evidence that Palestinians are the legal owner of lands and the real owner of rights .

Sharon and My Mother-in-Law

Hello …

At first we apologize of delaying the video conference because of the strike. We hope that answering about your questions here be a good alternative.

The question that my teacher gave me was the last one which is

  1. Do you think that Suad’s narrative voice transcends the barriers of understanding for her intended audience? Do  you feel an intimacy and relationship with Suad’s narrative?

To talk with foreign audience is not an easy task especially when you didn’t mix with this audience before.. Suad mixed with her audience who are the Italy people then the narrative as we see is suitable for all western and American people.

I think that Suad was able to transcend the barriers of understanding of her intended audience by using very simple language and explanation of cultural aspects in our society. Moreover, she was able to be close to them and their culture.

  1. Do  you feel an intimacy and relationship with Suad’s narrative?

Actually I felt a sort of intimacy with Suad narrative , because she talked about her difficulties that she faced in her life under the occupation as  many other Palestinians. Moreover ,her using of contemporary actions we really faced and heared of it . Suad was talking about period of time that we lived and felt it.           Nablus which is our city was mentioned a lot in many parts of her autobiography which adds another kind of intimacy with her narration.

Finally, I hope that I succeeded in answering your question, and I’m ready for any other questions.

Thank you…

Racism
Related to country: Palestine

We unfortunatly suffer from racism from Israelis. We never recieve equal rights nor treatment caomparing with the israeli citizens. For example , if we want to go to   Jerusalem we must get a formal permission from the DCO ( District Coopration Office) , beside being imposed to a exterme search on the check points before we inter Jerusalem while the Israeli citizes only show their IDs. without even having to get off their cars.

I don't thing that racism is noticable i the USA like here in Palestine. I think you people over come this phenomenon recently since your Prisident is a balck man As will as there are many famuos respected balck figures in your society like Oprah Winfry who i realy rspect  and watch her show all the time.

I believe all the people aruon the world must over come such shollow problems and start working together to solve bigger issues such as glabal warming which threats all the nations and the existence of human race on earth .
